The Prophet's Isra' and Mi'raj By Shaykh Muhammad 'Alawi al-Maliki - The journey of Isra' and Mi'raj certainly is a focal point in the history of Islam. The physical and spiritual experience was a major factor that discerned the true believers or people of Faith from passengers on the bandwagon of Islam. You may even declare that belief in the miraculous journey of The Prophet (Peace and Blessings be upon Him) was the measurement of faith as exemplified by the companions, especially Sayyidina Abu Bakr As-Siddiq and Sayyidina Ali (may Allah be pleased with them).

For centuries, scholars have debated over the nature of the Isra' and Mi'raj but Muslims unite in their submission to the truth and justicfication behind the event. Verily, its significance is boundless with the instituition of prayer and the Prophet's meeting with God beyond the Siddarat al-Muntaha (Lote-tree of the Farthest Boundary) amongst those established in the journey.

Shaykh Muhammad 'Alawi al-Maliki delivers an absorbing account of the Isra' and Mi'raj that brings the reader almost into the story. Indeed it is a detailed narrative spiced with a simple commentary that attempts to reconcile various accounts or reports of the event that transpired. This provides a comprehensive reading that takes the reader on an experiential ride to feel the magic of The Prophet's Journey (Peace and Blessings be upon Him). In short, it is very inspiring - exhilarating to the spiritual core!
